Fees Structure
Tuition Fees. DISV charges tuition fees annually to cover the full costs of tuition, exercise books, and loan of textbooks. We charge separately for additional activities, for learning support and for special language instruction.
Prospective parents from UNO or from embassies should consult with their organisation to obtain information regarding special arrangements for fee payments.
Items covered by the Additional Fees:
The additional fees cover all the important extra-curricular activities for each year group.
For all students in Elementary it covers the cost of swimming lessons, ice-skating, day field trips, IB program fees and ISA/CATS testing.
It also includes an activites programme for students in the Elementary and Secondary that runs after school lessons have finished.
Students can choose up to nine different activities each year with each session running ten weeks. For more detailed information on the activities programme please refer to the sheet entitled “The Activities Programme”.
In addition for Grades 2 - 5 it includes overnight field trips. The students in Grades 4 and 5 attend an overnight residential trip at the beginning of the school year. This enables the teacher to know their class better and for the children to make friends with each other. Grade 2 and 3 go on a field trip at the end of the academic year.
The children are accompanied by their class teacher and another teacher. They experience a mix of educational and outdoor activities. It gives them an opportunity to see another part of Austria and to gain independence and confidence.
There are also a series of residential field trips for students in the Secondary school. As part of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IBMYP) students in Grades 6 to 10 also visit the Austrian countryside at different times of the year. The aim is to develop their personal and social skills, as well as addressing the areas of interaction central to the MYP.
These are enjoyable as well as challenging trips, and they from an integral part of the programme.
Grades 11 and 12 also take part in additional activities that are central to the IB Diploma Programme. There is a Creativity Action and Service (CAS) retreat held in Burgenland.
The purpose of the retreat is to initiate students into the types of activities that are expected for CAS as an IB requirement.
Working collectively and “off campus” serves to focus their minds. The retreat is fun and also serves to give students many ideas on what is required for CAS.
There is also an intensive TOK workshop. This takes place over a weekend and addresses key topics from the TOK programme.
ISA (The International School´s Assessment) is an assessment designed especially for students in international schools in the third, fifth, seventh and ninth grades.
It measures Reading Literacy, Mathematical Literacy and Writing. The ISA provides an assessment with a broad culturel base, international normative information, information about growth over time and relevant comparisons between like schools.
